Islamic Marriage Questions

Is using an online matrimony platform halal?+

Yes, contemporary Islamic scholars generally permit online matrimony platforms for finding a nikah partner, provided: the intention is marriage, communication is modest, a Wali is involved, and there is no khalwat (being alone together).

What is Mahr and is it required?+

Mahr (also called Haq Mehr) is a mandatory gift from the groom to the bride in Islamic marriage. It can be money, gold, property, or any agreed-upon value. It is a right of the bride and cannot be waived.

PaakNikah strongly encourages involving your Wali (guardian) in the marriage process. While PaakNikah is a platform for introductions, the actual nikah must be conducted with proper Islamic requirements including a Wali.
